Brief: To create a user guide for novice and technically literate users of a PC card (PCMCIA) modem for notebook computers.
Solution: This manual was created in 1996, during the early days of the PC Card (PCMCIA) standard, when software support was only just emerging from the 'stone age'. Thus, much needed to be done to explain how to add support for both Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 users. Hence, a great deal of space is occupied by explanations of the PC Card software structure and how to diagnose the system. A user guide for a similar product today would be a much simpler affair.
