Brief: To create an approachable user manual, sufficiently small in size to match the diminutive product and yet comprehensive in its coverage of features.
Solution: To suit the product and packaging an A6 page size was adopted and used in a landscape format for two main reasons: It offers a more efficient use of the small space and the booklet pages remain open more easily when laid on a table.
To assist with navigation and the perceived simplicity of the manual, the main contents page points only to the main section headings. Within each section, a further mini-contents list provides further detail. Full bleed page tabs assist the reader in locating the required section and a two colour scheme aids overall readability.
This manual proved to be very popular and was successfully localised into the following European langauges: French, Italian, German, Spanish and Dutch.
